My Dear Ogoni
by Eddy Kaka
Kpomasse Refugee Camp

You are my birth place
Much love for you than all lands
Who painted your face black and dirty
One man called a Nigerian
And a business thief, Shell.

Hope they are aware
Yes, but they want me quiet
A son dared to talk and died
Can another son ask again?
Wonder if any other son is serious.

Lonely I stay and cry
Why the cry and sorrow?
Children turned refugees
Tears increase day by day
'cause they fight to die in exile

Time remembrance of lost beauty again
What of hanged sons?
Died in vain for mother land?
O-Oh! A sympathiser to help
God consider my Dear Ogoni.
